Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center operates an International Medical Center on the first floor. The staff members of the Center speak English to better assist foreign guests. Visitors seeking medical attention will be asked some basic questions concerning their symptoms when they first arrive at the Center before being referred to an English‐speaking doctor for further medical diagnosis and treatment. Those needing various kinds of medical treatments will be accompanied by a staff member who will assist them.

Alternatively residents can visit the Medical Center website at www.dsmc.or.kr for information in English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Arabic. Policy holders of the World Access, Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance, and Federal Employee Program from the USA and SOS from Japan will receive insurance benefits. Working hours are 8:30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Yeungnam University Medical Center also operates an International Health Service Center for international patients and follows a similar procedure to that of the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center. When a patient comes to the Center, the Center will perform primary medical treatment and routine physical check‐ups, after which the patient will be referred to a doctor.

The Center is open from 8:30am to 5:30pm, and the clinics are open from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Those requiring assistance can contact the International Health Service Center at 620‐3500 and 623‐4114. The cellular phone number 010‐4786‐8001 is available 24 hours a day and can be used for emergencies. Foreign residents can also visit Daegu Fatima Hospital located in Sinam‐dong, Dong‐gu. The International Medical Center is located in the hospital’s lobby and is open from 9:30am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The Center itself is open from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays, too, but the availability of medical staff may vary on Saturdays. Prior reservation is highly recommended for those requiring further medical treatment on that day. If you call the Center at 940‐7520, a coordinator will answer your call. Kyungpook National University (KNU) Hospital does not operate an international center, but has designated English‐speaking staff members to assist international patients who need help while receiving medical treatments. Daegu Catholic University Medical Center is located in Nam‐gu, near the Duryu Park, more specifically. This Center does not have an international center, but like KNU Hospital, English‐speaking staff members are available to help those who need English services. Service hours for medical treatment are from 9am to 12 pm and 1pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, you can also receive medical treatment between 9am and 12pm.

Korean National Health Insurance subscribers need to get a doctor's diagnosis at a clinic before coming to a second‐tier hospital such as those listed above. Those who do not have Korean National Health Insurance coverage can use the general hospitals anytime they want, though different rates will be applied. Patients with international private health insurance can also seek initial medical consultation at general hospitals. If the hospital you visit has an agreement with your health insurance provider, almost all the necessary procedures will be carried out by the hospital.
